Artificial Intelligence is [CENSORED]

7 December 2022

Recently, artificial intelligence developer Open AI released a groundbreaking product called ChatGPT, a program which both understands complex language structures that it’s given and formulates responses to those questions based on data it’s been fed.

Before you say “But that’s just Google!” the kicker here is that the data is presented in a comprehensible, conversational, natural-language structure which seems authentic and even creative.

Another thing that ChatGPT does that Google doesn’t is to make up things that don’t necessarily exist in full on the internet based on a prompt given. It does this by using its natural language processing (NLP) engine to compile something from the bits and fragments that do exist and make it comprehensible. For example:

While this illusion of creativity is extremely impressive, it’s just that – an illusion. Remember – ChatGPT is programed to compile response by piecing together fragments of what already exists. And if ChatGPT doesn’t know the answer? It will confidently give you very wrong answers, like assuring you that a bird is a mammal:

Now let’s ask chatGPT something….different…

Oh, dear…that didn’t go well at all.

A more thorough examination of responses to politically controversial issues reveals a trend: ChatGPT leans left on the political spectrum in the way that the rest of the “big tech” internet leans left.

I also asked ChatGPT “Without government, who would build the roads?” and it assured me there would be chaos and confusion. It’s like its never met a libertarian!

Wikipedia, I’ve said before, is the information that big tech and the corporate controllers want you to see. There is no flirting with conspiracy theories, alternative history, or overly right-wing ideas. ChatGPT is the Wikipedia of ai, in that it is the censored, vanilla information that is curated so as to not be “harmful” or controversial.

I would like to say that ChatGPT and other ai technologies like it are free and open source, fairy designed, giving authentic answers that are representative of reality and all people and ideas, but it’s just not the case – at least not yet. It’s curated information that is put through a filter of propaganda, and tweaked so as to not be offensive to anyone.

Beware of any “information” generated through ai engines. Wrongthink has no place in ChatGPT, and this has dangerous consequences to the future of information distribution, which almost certainly will draw from the power and lure of natural language engines as people look for easier ways to search for information and augment creativity.

Outta the Box

Outta the Box contains alternative ideas and conspiracy theories which do not necessarily represent my views or beliefs, and are presented only as fun food for thought.

The Chicago World’s Fair of 1893 was attended by over 27 million visitors, showcasing the latest technological advancements and featured a variety of cultural displays and educational exhibits.

Yet in my opinion, the most remarkable aspect of the exposition was the architecture. Magnificent, Beaux-Arts style buildings, featuring grand arches, domes, and plazas, were supposedly built just for the exposition, only to be demolished shortly afterwards.

There is an alternative view of history I stumbled across, which relates to the mud flood theory, which is that these buildings, and many more in early America, were already here long before the European-American settlers, constructed by a more ancient people, who built the same type of buildings all over the world, which have is-attributed to most recent local peoples. The theory would posit that they were showcased and ultimately demolished to hide the real history.

This seems outlandish, of course, but looking at photos of this and other world’s fairs, you can’t help but wonder how and why these incredible, opulent stone buildings were built to be “temporary” structures.
